What exactly is NeuralMD?
A personal knowledge base for developers. Write notes in Markdown, NeuralMD indexes them semantically, and you find everything with natural language search. Think "Obsidian + AI search" as a web app.
What's the difference between Ollama and OpenAI embeddings?
Ollama runs locally — free, private, but smaller models. OpenAI uses larger, more precise models for semantic search. In short: Ollama is great, OpenAI is even better for complex queries.
Is my data private?
The Free plan with Ollama = everything stays local. The Pro plan sends content to OpenAI for embedding generation (no storage on their side). You can also self-host everything.
What is the MCP endpoint?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets AI assistants (Claude, etc.) access your notes as context. Your notes become your AI's memory.
Can I export my notes?
Yes. Everything is Markdown. Native export, copy-paste, git, whatever you want. Zero lock-in.
Is it open source?
